Reflections in Phelps Lake

Phelps Lake Reflection

I headed out with a couple of friends yesterday for a day-hike into Death Canyon in Grand Teton National Park to personally check on the snow levels deeper into the Tetons. I wasn’t expecting much as we approached the Phelps Lake Overlook on our way into the canyon, however the scene that unfolded as we crested the ridge was a surreal scene of spectacular natural beauty. Phelps Lake had become a giant 1.5 mile mirror, reflecting the dynamic clouds above.

Though we weren’t even two miles into our eventual 16 mile hike, we felt this scene deserved to be admired with an appropriate amount of time to gaze in wonder.
