I recently put together a new time-lapse video compilation from shots around Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park. A few shots from Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park also snuck their way in. The music is, once again, by zero-project. I named it ‘Endless Winter’ after the actual endless winter we’ve had here in Jackson Hole. Interestingly enough though, it seems like the month of May wasn’t going to stand for it and as soon as May 1st came around, warmer temperatures and clear skies came with it.
There’s one scene that you’ll notice is a bit softer, both visually and musically. For that segment, I intentionally added a blur effect to give it more of a dreamy quality. What do you think? Does it work or is it too distracting? Either way I’d love to hear your feedback, as always.
That is really cool Mike! Are you doing your motion in post?
Thank you, Ron! All of it is done in post, but I’m hoping to get a dolly system some time in the near future. They just provide certain effects that you can’t accomplish completely in post.

I love the Tetons. I love good time-lapse. It’s no wonder I love the “Endless Winter” Thanks Mike

Thank you very much, Tom! I definitely can’t get enough of them no matter which season it is.
I agree – just added a dolly myself.
Nice! Can’t wait to see what you come up with using it.

Epic. It looks gorgeous. Pacing seems appropriate. I don’t think the blur is too distracting at all, adds to the mood pretty subtly actually. The only thing i notices was the jittery shot around 2:30 – it kind of took me out of it a little. Otherwise it looks beautiful.

Thanks Hayden! Good to hear from you again too! The wind was pretty brutal that day so that’s the cause for the shaking. Then I put this particular video together in a Premiere Pro demo which apparently didn’t have a built-in method to stabilize shaky videos. I think that specific clip is in another video though and I did manage to smooth it out in that one.
Thanks again! I’ll go poke you on Facebook now.
