For those that weren’t aware, the night of Friday, August 5th showed off a spectacular display of northern lights, visible even as far south as Utah and Colorado. Having only seen them here in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (thus far), this was by far the best I have ever seen! My camera was picking them up before twilight had even faded and once complete darkness had taken over, the show really got good as they began to flare up.… Keep reading...

Last night there was a nice display of Northern Lights on the northern horizon of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Wanting some water in my shot, I headed over to the Wilson Boat Launch along the Snake River outside of Jackson, Wyoming to catch it. I normally wouldn’t post this late at night, but I’m too excited about this one. When I was a kid there was a big solar storm and supposedly we could see the Aurora Borealis all the way down in New Orleans, Louisiana. I didn’t see the bright lights that you see in the photos so I was a little disappointed and shrugged it off, not actually taking a close look.… Keep reading...
