One drive I was wanting to try out along the trip that I was ultimately a bit disappointed in for various reasons was Cottonwood Canyon Road in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Perhaps it was just the wrong time of day and perhaps I was just being too picky for a campsite, but I drove through it particularly a little frustrated with the amount of power lines running through the most scenic parts.… Keep reading...

This was from my first night in Dinosaur National Monument which actually spans both north-eastern Utah and north-western Colorado. At first glance I wasn’t too happy with the way this turned out. I think I was expecting it to be a bit different for some reason. However the more I kept passing over it the more it intrigued me.
