This wolf is the alpha male of the Canyon Pack, 712M, in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming as of May, 2009. He was found in the Lamar Valley. When there’s a wolf or bear out in the open in Yellowstone National Park, it’s extremely rare to get a unique shot since there are other photographers standing right next to you. I’m proud to say though, there isn’t another shot like this anywhere else. I was completely alone as his yellow eyes looked right into me as I was driving out of Yellowstone.

Wow, check out those eyes. Great telephoto shot, a nice foreground, engaging subject, great OOF mountains. Great image made of a great opportunity, well done!
